The object of this discussion is for all the contributors to discuss and come to an agreement on what people do and do not like in a standardized template. By giving all the pages a uniform appearance it creates a more cohesive feel. It makes the site appear more professional as well as stopping unnecessary mental "jolts" that are created by jumping to different templates. Setting up uniform templates now, will in the long run, help make it easier for others to help out later on because they will not be using 15 different looking formats for all the different types of pages.
So far there are 3 different formats that have been nominated, and the first step for the discussion will be to decide which base template they think:
- Uses available white area most efficiently
- Most concisely and without unneeded repeats of information details significant data as well as linking related pages
- Organizes the information in a manner that is both aesthetically acceptable and easy to use.
Please note which template format you prefer and why you prefer it. If you have a template to nominate also post it in the discussion as well. Please remember to keep your posts civil, do not attack someone personally, and refrain from rude language. Remember that if someone posts something about why they don't like your template it is not an attack towards you personally but their own opinion, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.
